SMS opt-in & consent

Last updated: 2026-06-08

What we send by text

Friends in Bloom Garden Club sends members occasional text reminders about upcoming meetings, garden events, plant sales, and seasonal volunteer days. Messages are sent by the club's admin on behalf of the membership and are limited to club-related information.

How we collect consent

Members opt in to SMS in one of two ways:

  • Verbally, at a club meeting or by phone, by giving their mobile number to the admin and confirming they'd like to receive text reminders.
  • Online, by providing their mobile number on the club's contact form and checking the box that says “Sign me up for occasional text reminders from Friends in Bloom Garden Club.” The checkbox is unchecked by default, includes the message frequency, STOP/HELP instructions, and the carrier-rate disclosure, and consent is not required to contact the club or join as a member.

A member's phone number is only added to the SMS list with their explicit consent. We do not buy, rent, or share mobile numbers with any third party.

Frequency and cost

Message frequency varies — typically two to four texts per month, with occasional bursts around major events (the spring plant sale, annual potluck, garden tour). Message and data rates from your carrier may apply.

Opting out

Reply STOP to any text from us to opt out immediately. You can also reply HELP for help, or email bev@friendsinbloom.com to be removed from the list.

Privacy

We only collect a mobile number, your name, and your email (when provided) for the purpose of running the garden club. We never sell or share your information. Contact bev@friendsinbloom.com to request removal of any of your information from our records.
